John JK Kalenowsky K9JK, pointed out that I made an error in the date for
Hamfest MN. It is the 23rd of Oct. from 8 to 2. I have made the
appropriate corrections in the announcement. We can get in 1/2 hour early
because we have a club table that was provided to us by the Hamfest. This
is another reason to volunteer so that you can get in early and scope out
the real deals. Shorter shifts also this year.

Hamfest MN has provided us the table free on the basis that we will have
lots of people manning it and on my word that we will have 15+ club members
from the NLRS at the Hamfest. Please don't let me down. We have the most
exciting stuff in radio happening in our club and we need to show it and
continue to generate that interest in VHF+ so that we continue to make
impact on the VHF+ world from the Midwest. I believe that we have begun to
accomplish that especially with Jon's promotion and championing of the
recent UHF and VHF contests (please get those 10 logs in to Jon) but the
work has just begun. We need to educate the community and especially see if
we can capture the kids imaginations. There are typically more kids at this
hamfest than all the other combined. Let's pull out all the stops!! Let's
have lots of club involvement!!!! Please get back to me!!!!!!!!!!!

Earl
