While the ARRL demands anything computer processed come out in Cabrillo
format (which I don't care to understand and I'm not convinced THEY
understand it) but they will take a xerox copy of the log book pages with all
their zits and strikeouts so long as their summary sheet is included with the
mailed logs. I used to use a spread sheet to check for sections, and for
duplicate contacts. It was handy to sort on the callsign column then the
section or grid column to find those duplicates and to identify the new
sections, then sort back (I tossed in a sequential serial number column so I
could sort it back in contact order). But they are obsessed with Cabrillo and
that caused me to neglect sending in logs. But so they have to WORK to read
my scribbles, that's their RULE.
I don't think its trivial to convert from spreadsheet to Cabrillo and further
having planned my location to be mile(s) from the nearest computer, I'm sure
not going to fill 6m with computer hash with MY OWN computer for logging!!!!!
So its paper or nothing.
