Gary,

I have a question regarding the rainscatter roundtables up in your area
this summer. Did you guys run into situations where you couldn't all
copy eachother off of the same rainstorm? If so, could you clue me into
the geometry involved. In theory, assuming horizontal polarization,
paths that are near straight through the storm of straight backscatter
should be loudest, while those nearest right angles should be weakest.
Have you noticed this? Has anyone tried going to vertical
polarization? Theoretically that should make the storm an
"omnidirectional" reflector.

I'm putting some neat new stuff in the RainScatter program, and I'm
trying to write an algorithm to find the "best storms" for a given path,
so any practical experience is most welcome!
