Hi all, had time to get away for a bit from the kids and typical kid
shinanigans....worked W9ZIH on rain scatter around 7:00 PM tonight.

Also worked him on 5.7 ghz, 5x1x9 sigs. 5x5x9 sigs on 10 ghz. There were
nice cells between us, but the path was just rain, the big cells were above
and below our direct heading. So it was forward rain scatter and signals on
SSB were very good as well. No doppler. Then the band dropped out after we
chatted on 10 ghz for a bit, just like someone turned off the faucet.

EN51nw I believe is Rons grid, so the path is about 381 mile sor 614 km.
Grid number 30 for 10 ghz!

Also tried with Garth, W0GR on EM38, but no go there.

I recall working many folks in EN34 on just rain, no major storms, on 10
Ghz, just an enhancment with a bit of a wattery tropo sounding signal. This
was exactly like that, so the moral of the story may be is that you dont
need major storms to work good dx, just some good rain inbetween!
Elevation was tried, it was a loss of signal.

73 and CUL
