Hi Mike,
The connector should have instructions with it. It will vary (slightly) =
from connector to connector. =20
For the E.F. Johnson connectors I use (142-0694-16), the extension is =
0.085 inches. The end is "sharpened" with a flat needle file =
(carefully). These are nickel-plated, two piece connctors for RG-402 =
(0.141) semi-rigid cable. They're rated to 26.5 GHz (!) with semi-rigid =
cable. There are similar connectors for 0.085 semi-rigid.
Digi-Key has them for $0.89 each, w/price break at 10 and 50 units. =
Data sheet:

-011,%20142-0694-016.pdf>
Hope this helps.

Subject: [NLRS] SMA connectors
Hi all, I'm looking for a little wisdom. When you use the kind of sma=20
connector that just has a piece that solders onto the U141 and uses the=20
u141 center conductor as the center pin, how do you sharpen the center=20
pin? Also what are the dimensions for how far the pin sticks out?
Thanks
Mike
