[NLRS] Has anyone BUILT a DEMI 10 GHz transverter kit?

Hi Scott.
Have not built the DEMI 10GHz kit. However, have built others. Yes, there
are 9 pipe cap filters. There is a "palette" and a 6 mil PC board. The
board is fastened to the palette (screws); the pipe cap filters soldered (a
heat plate is desirable), and then all other components are soldered on.
The "complete kit" is a complete kit, minus the TR stuff. If you are going
with a splt i.f, you won't need the i/f interface, but you may need a
relay, etc., to act as a sequencer for the transverter and the TR. Power
amplifier ? ~10 mw will get youy started, but it will be difficult for
other to hear you. 100mW seems to be about the minimum for rain-scatter,
building scatter, etc. 18" dish would appear to be the best choice. Much
larger than that, and its too difficult to aim/hold position. 17 - 20 dB
horns just don't have enough gain.
