Hi Gary. Yes, in my opinion the NLRS club table at MWM was a success. Bob
(AUS) grabbed the sign-up sheet before I could look at it so I'm not sure how
many sign-ins we had ..... Bob, can you report on that and forward that sheet
to Rich ?

A couple of things to note from my perspective. Just standing in front of
the table and listening to people I heard comments from those passing by like,
"10 GHZ, cool", or "Rain scatter .... never heard of that". I either
participated in or overheard conversations about how cool this "stuff" is. I
noted that Donn's 24 GHz set-up was a focal point for discussion .... not
necessarily about 24 GHz itself but how to hook up transverters, etc. Donn, thanks
for bring it. Our $20 table fee was well invested with respect to our clubs
charter of spreading the gospel of weak signal VHFing. We also had a
chance to do some club "business" with respect to reconnecting with League & CAC
people on the recently proposed contest rule changes and with the crew that
puts on the October hamfest at the Rivercenter where we may go for two tables
this fall (NLRS and the QRP club were cited as two of the higher "impact" local
clubs that are generating a lot of interest). I think Earl and Russ smoozed
a bit about some more professional booth artwork for NLRS ... any chance we
could have this for the October hamfest ?

In summary, yes it was very successful. Through this part of our hobby we
continue to spread the word about weak signal VHFing as well as attract new
club members. Thanks to Earl, Russ, Donn, Bob, Dave, and others.

73, Jon
