I have a fix for this. Just go and buy a FT-857 or FT-857D. So when you are
on USB and have your Key plug in. All you have to do is tune for the voice
and if you need to send CW just reach over and pound it out and when you are
done it will return to USB without touching the mode button. Its Eric proof.

Well, yes it would be if that was the case, but it's not. If the BFO is
on the wrong side of your crystal filter (which is the real problem with
CW on LSB) then simply retuning will not work. You would have to switch
modes AND retune when you switch back and forth from receive to transmit.
