Robert, the only Ham band between 6 and 10 GHz *is* the 10 GHz band!
Oh... you mean 6 METERS through 10 GIGAHERTZ! :)
Anyway, all teasing aside, the Twin Cities Repeater Club (TCRC) plans to
hold their Field Day activity in Empire Township, just about 3 miles
south of downtown Rosemount, MN, as we have for the past many years.
(County Road 42 east to Rosemount, then right or south on Highway 3)
The grid is EN34kq. We don't know if we will be able to continue at
this location after the current year, as the farmer who owned the
property (Jerry Stelzel) recently passed away, and the family only gave
us the green light for this year so far.
We will be operating as W0BU 3A MN.
Last year and this year, I signed up to run one of the HF stations, so
I'm no longer in charge of the VHF/UHF/Satellite station. Most likely,
we will only have 6M, 2M, and 70cm for the world above 50 MHz this year,
but plans could change at the last moment. Especially if any of you
NLRS folks who can't get enough RF wanted to come out and operate with
us! One or two of the years I was in charge of that station we had
everything from 50-1296 MHz plus 10 GHz, but I decided it was too much
work for me to handle, for the number of points earned. But it WOULD be
nice to have a lot of VHF/UHF stuff going, considering that we ARE a
VHF/UHF club (repeaters on 6M, 2M, 135cm, and 70cm).
For that matter, since our top CW operator is being called out of town
on business, we'd welcome any of you CW experts in the neighborhood that
would like to take a turn in that seat for awhile, to feel free to come
out and join us.
