Hello All,
I just finished working Jon W0ZQ on rainscatter about 30 minutes ago.
He was near Sisseton, SD at EN15KI and I was at Rapid City, SD at
DN84JB. There was a storm front that went through Rapid City an hour
earlier headed east.. I found Jon at 87 degrees azimuth but expected to
find him direct at 73 degrees. My dish was elevated about 10 degrees to
peak up the signal. The weather map showed this storm cell had moved
near Wall, SD so it was not far from me.. Jon's area showed no weather
cells..
We first worked on CW, moving to SSB, and finally to FM. Signals were
so strong we QSOed for about 10 minutes or so on FM planning our next
shot to Mpls area. Hi Hi.. What a great thrill it is to work 10ghz out
of back woods of Microwave.. 73's,
Al
