Hi Andy, welcome to RoverMania !       Regarding "good" operating
locations, the good news is that there are lots of spots to pull off the
road in northern Iowa and southern MN that offer some views .... rolling
hills if you will.   The bad news is that there really isnt any commanding
locations outside of perhaps some of the bluffs along the Mississippi river
or some of the ridges in western MN, eastern SDak.    The best thing to do
is to find a spot that crests a hill that has a good take off (no trees for
a mile or so).
