The following is a posting that I just made to the Pacific Northwest VHF
Society reflector. This will be our third VHF/UHF SKN and it is an event
that requires no planning, no entries, and is a lot of fun! May I suggest
that you guys give it a shot?? Who knows, Six meters may open up!

This is your "early warning" of Straight Key Night in case you need to rig a
key, brush up on CW skills, or leave town....

Straight Key Night, or "SKN", is the traditional straight key ARRL CW
confab
on New Years Eve and the following day. This will be the third PNWVHFS SKN,
and it a lot of fun! SKN is a friendly gathering on the air, with an
emphasis on rag chewing rather than the number of contacts. For full
information, go to:

 http://www.arrl.org/contests/rules/2004/skn.html

or the December issue of QST.

Entries to the ARRL consist of only a listing of stations worked plus a
vote
for "Best Fist" and "Most Interesting QSO". PNWVHFS members are requested
to post the same information on the society reflector. Recommended
 frequencies for VHF/UHF SKN are: 50.135, 144.210, 222.110, 432.110, and
1296.110. If anybody wants to try higher frequencies, please let me know.
