[NLRS] CSVHFS06 Planning meeting #1

Hello NLRS'ers:

Planning meeting number one was held at my apartment complex and we had
10 attendees: W0AUS, WA2VOI, KF0Q, N0UK, K0SHF, K0KFC, KC0IYT, N0KP,
W0UC, and W9FZ.

We achieved just what I hoped we'd achieve--initial brainstorming on
what we envision the event could be.  Plus fleshed out Committees and a
basic timeline.

I'm starting a separate reflector that will deal with just CSVHFS06
chatter.  Regular announcements will be made here as status reports, but
all NLRS members and lurkers will not be subjected to the back and forth
discussions for the event.

If you will be helping put on the event, we'd love to have you on the
reflector so that you have continuity on the disucssions.  If you will
only be loosely assisting, then perhaps digest mode is for you.  You'll
get the continuity but not the inbox filling.

The next two steps are to contact the Convention and Visitors Bureau to
determine potential date conflicts in July of 06 and potential hotels,
and to make an initial round of candidate hotels.  W0UC and W9FZ are on
the hotel committee--we could use one more.  Clearly, the entire
planning team will tour the finalist hotels and assist in making the
final decision.

Our next meeting will take place in late Feb or early March.

In the meantime, if you will be a part of putting on this event, contact
me with the email address you'd like to use for the list.  It IS
possible to have two email addresses subbed to the list--one you send
from and one at which you receive Ham related emails.

The event is 19 Months from now.  In the next few months, we will all
change our signature blocks to include some mention of coming to
Minneapolis in July 06 for the CSVHFS Conference.
