Sorry for the broad posting, but I have not been paying CLOSE attention to
next weeks 10gigs plans and did not make the Friday night planning session.
Here is what I do know.

1. I will be at Thompson Hill (Dultuh) Sat. morning at the appointed time
(I think that is where we are starting .... let me know if I am wrong). I
will be driving up from Mpls in the early early morning.
2. I will have 146.46 simplex on in the car. 50 watts and a 5/8 wave whip.
3. We have 6 rooms held in MY name (Jon Platt) with my card at the Outpost
Motel for Sat. night. 1-888-380-1833. This is the same place we stayed last
year and its eight miles from Grand Marais. Here is the website
_http://www.outpostmotel.com/_ (http://www.outpostmotel.com/) . Five rooms are 1 bed
for $55 while one room has two queens for $65. We can get a limited number
of rollaways for $5 each, but we should have a head count so I can let them
know. Right now I know of six who have committed; WB0LJC, W0ZQ, KC0IYT,
KA0OZN, N0NAS, and N0UK. Who am I missing ? N0KP, W0AUS, W0JT will be on
the northshore but have other lodging plans ?? - please confirm. If your
planning on lodging with us and I don't have you listed, let me know !
4. I will have my 1296 along to try when we can. I can go from transport
to active mode in about one minute. If we find conditions "good" on 10gigs,
signals on 1296 can help us understand the propagation mode. I have 50
watts and a 6' looper.
5. Bring some food to keep you on the road. We will most likely find some
hot food in Grand Marais Sat. night, but Sunday morning and points
in-between you will need some food to keep you going. As I recall the motel does
have a coffee pot in each room.
6. Drive safely. Be very very careful in the turns in and out of Hwy 61
as they fly up and down that road.
7. Plan on it be cool and windy. Your dish should be anchored somehow in
the wind ... I use the battery on the upwind leg. Bug spray is a good
idea.
8. Bring a copy of your ham license.

73, Jon
