Surprised that only a couple of words so far about the event. It was
unimaginable to think that this feat could ever take place almost 2yrs ago when
we discussed the possibilities for the UHF test from the upper Midwest.
Looking at my log (not 400 qso's like 'ZQ/R - now I am really jealous Jon....
way to go!) it sits at 60 some thousand points - not much for the 2004 test
granted - but for the UHF test?
I would have done anything for a result like this a few years back - and to
think that my results are probably average this year! The bar has truly been
raised! I will be sending out a more detailed rover report about my adventure
later (I am totally beat as well - 720 miles and 1 1/2 hrs of sleep in a truck
parking area in West Union, IA this morn - still haven't had my nap yet). I
just wanted to take a minute and let everyone know how impressed I was with the
way the deployment happened - and how everyone seemed to work together as a
team or teams to get that many rovers with bands and bands in general on the
air. And when the chaos took place on the air with so many new potential qso
possibilities there seemed to be an order of sorts after all. I was also
impressed by how everyone shared, built, loaned their expensive equipment,
antennas, sage rover advice, and time to really help the group benefit as a
whole. More later – feel that nap coming on –
73,
KF0Q/R
