Hi all, Hope everyone is getting fired up here for Rover Mania!
As for the first hour of the contest, things will be really flying during
that time and there are a few rovers in far away unique grids that I intend
to get right away prior to going after the other rovers who may be spending
more time in their intial grids. It will take some quick operating and
coordination to make it work, so I am looking into somewhat of a plan for
that first hour.
Since Gene - N0DQS has posted that he will go out to EN02/EN03, I need to
work him first because we are going to be doing 24 GHz. We plan on getting
started at NOON local, so that we have everything ready to go. This can be
time consuming point on that high band, so I must start there, or I could
miss everyone else for the first hour.
If we start at noon, and get all pointed. It should take me no more than 10
minutes to run him in both grids. (Actually will take less, but it takes a
few minutes to get off the roof and get back into the station.) Hopefully
this only takes 5 to 8 minutes.
So, I propose for sure by 1:15 local time, I will then look for Rich -
N0HJZ/R up in EN05 and also Jim K0MHC/R in EN17. Also, KC0IYT in EN16.
Then I will point southeast to K0PG and K9ILT in EN40.
IF I dont hear stuff in five minutes or so, I will have to go looking
elsewhere.
At that point, then it seems like I will have to go find W0ZQ, W0AMT, KF0Q,
W0JT.
The others will follow after that since they are in the grid longer.
This will be tough, and I cant say which order, but if everyone stays on
their designated frequency it should really help for sure.
So, just wanted to let you all know where I was going to be the first hour.
If anyone has any better suggestions, please let me know.
I will be calling the rovers on their frequecny and work who every I hear
first, so Im going to really be moving around the rover frequecies. If your
another rover spining the dial and hear me on another rover's freq, I will
move to your frequecny when you get my attention.
