[NLRS] FT290RII update

Hi Guys

  Thanks to those that have responded to the previous message. A service 
manual has been located and that will help if further investigation needs to be 
made.


  What I have found is that the driver transistor 2SC2538 on the PA board 
has very touchy SSB tuning. (Under bottom cover, toward the back) There 
are 2 tuning caps on the collector. The TC02 variable  is VERY fussy and 
TC03 less so. I have found that my SSB output can be improved greatly by 
careful adjustment of these two. I suffer some loss of output on FM, but no 
big deal. The output is now very constant regardless of mode at about 1 1/2 
watts (no amp) ...
