Hi everyone.

A late thanks to everyone who gave me transverter adivce.

Well, I have built the Ten-TEc 1210 kit, but sadly I broke the driver transistor
because I didn't have it lined up right with the heatsink.

I now have a replacement transistor and I am ready to get on the air
with it as soon as I put the new transistor in.

I would like to know if there are any 2m SSB nets going on and when they
take place. I am hoping that I can give my new transverter a good test that
way. I would have been on the air on the contest weekend, but I broke that
transistor!

I will have a modest setup. I can go two ways, I can use my base antenna
on 2m which is veritcal at about 30 feet, or I can get out on the deck and put
up my portable 3 element 2m beam at about 15 feet, horizontal. I am not sure
which setup would be the best since the wrong polarization on the base
would likely make up for the extra height. I am in Hastings, BTW, with a 100 foot
rise in elevation very close to my west.

Thanks!
