Hi Jon and All,
I will be available for any rain scatter tries on Wednesday. I have a spot
pick out north or me for the trial. It will not be the dx distance but
should be a shot toward Barry.
The dock is out so will have to wait for the lake to freeze and for snow
scatter to work from the home location.
If things look good I will be available and will monitor the wx channel, 17.
Lets hope it happens.

Subject: [NLRS] Heads-up : Wednesday 10 GHz rain scatter
Looking at the NWS Storm Prediction Center forecast for tomorrow
(Wednesday), it looks favorable for some 10 GHz rain scatter between VE4MA
and points south (Twin Cities and KM0T). A mostly north-south cold front
is forecast to move through late Wednesday afternoon & evening hours with
an increased threat of hail. Its the increased possibility of hail that
this system has that make it significant. The southern areas have the
increased possibility of an isolated super cell. Check it out at
http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day2otlk.html
If the system develops as forecast, this may be one of the last chances
this T-storm season to work some long haul 10 GHz rain scatter. Hopefully
Barry (VE4MA) and Mike (KM0T) will be around Wednesday later afternoon into
the evening hours. My previous 10 GHz rain scatter contact with Barry
from Burnsville was good for 632 km and a third place in the 10 GHz DX
records. Second place is 28 km further, or 660 km. We should be able to
identify a good site that is futher south from the Burnsville location by
at least 28 km and that has a good view towards Barry in an attempt to grab
second place.
Food for thought. Heads up 10 GHzers
73, Jon
