Hey all, thanks for all the QSOs!
Score was a bit better than last year, so that was good. However, fixed =
station activity on the low bands was down by a 1/3rd. Not good to see. =
Rover activity was way up, thats what made the difference here. =
Conditions were like last year....pretty sucky with ever so brief bouts =
of propagation. No 6M at all. Did not even CQ there.
Highlights....
Finally catching K0AWU up north...weak but steady on 2M. Nothing heard =
on 222 Bill, sorry.
N0HJZ, loading up his vertical, worked on CW with cross polarization =
missmatch! Very weak, but doable.
Caught Tim (K0PG/R) and Pat(K9ILT/R) in a number of grids! Hope it was =
worth your while coming this way! Please come again!
Caught Jon(W0AMT/R) and John in a bunch too, very good sigs on the high =
bands! Good Job on 2304! Need a card on 900 Mhz for EN35! That one =
has eluded me!
N0DQS/R - Gene in 14 grids all bands except 1296 Mhz in EN30 (or 20, =
cant remember) Rain.....1296 dont like it. I will chalk it up to wet =
corn attenuation. Strange, all the other bands thru 10 ghz were =
unaffected on this +100 mile path. Thanks for your efforts Gene!
N0DQS/R - Gene in 6 grids on 24 GHZ! - in fact, two of them being =
totally new grids, EN02 and EN03 at approximatly 92 miles. It was =
pretty easy. Took about 8 minutes of sequences then we found each other. =
Thats now 8 grids on 24 Ghz....looking at the maps for two more! Glad =
it was not raining, standing on the roof in the cool WX with wind and =
rain would not be fun. Got luckey this time, just cold with wind! Just =
got my 24 GHz VUCC - # 21 - Thanks Donn for doing the paperwork / card =
checking!
W0GHZ on 5.7 ghz. Our first I think during a contest. Thanks Gary!
Jim -K0MHC was back up and running in EN26 - good to have activity up =
there again!
KF0Q out in the sticks...EN43...good highband performance this time =
Matt!
N0KP - Dave on some of his new higher band stuff! Keep it going Dave!
Eric - KT8O - finally made that 903 QSO....wonder if I was on 902 all =
the other times....hmmmm
Amounst others....
I have to say that I heard more cooperation during this contest then I =
have heard in a while, very cool. Lots of guys telling others where the =
rovers were, and getting their attention for farther out stations (like =
me). You folks know who you are, thank you!
I appreciate working you all, not sure how much I will get to do this in =
January, as Colleen will be one month out from being due at that point.
