Hi Chuck. Regarding NLRS club contributions to QTH.NET, I can tell you what
I know.

At our Aurora 2003 business meeting we approved a motion to send QTH.NET $150
from the clubs funds. In addition to that we collected $200 of individual
club membership contributions that were forwarded on. This does not include
any donations that NLRS members may have made directly.

At our Aurora 2002 business meeting we approved a motion to send QTH.NET $100
from our club funds. In addition to that we collected $257 in individual
club membership contributions that were forwarded on. In response to an
urgent plea in August '02 the club donated an additional $100. In summary,
during 2002, the NLRS donated $200 of club money and $257 in individual club
membership contributions. This does not include any donations that NLRS members
may have made directly.

Prior to 2002 the NLRS has had a history of passing the hat around at our
Aurora business meeting to collect individual club members contributions, but I
have no documentation on the specific amount ...... from memory I think that we
typically collected a couple of hundred dollars.

In summary its my perspective that on the whole that the NLRS as a club has
been, and continues to be, very active in its support of QTH.NET and that I
would recommend that we continue to fund it in the same way as we have done in
the past ..... I don't think that we need to pass the hat at our monthly
breakfast. With that said, we need to understand that QTH.NET is a nonprofit
organization and because of that they have a fine line to walk in terms of
requesting and receiving donations versus expenditures and I think that we should
expect to see occasional requests for donations. My expectation is that if we all
contribute a little we will continue to see the great service and the value
added activity that QTH.NET provides for our club and that extra ordinary fund
raising efforts are not required.
