[NLRS] Comments on NLRS Reflector Costs

The text below is a cut & paste of Bud's previous email on this subject.
I ask each NLRS member to think about the great dynamics of our club and
how this reflector contributes to this.    I also think that its important
to emphasis that QTH.NET is not asking for a few big contributions but is
asking all uses to contribute a little.    Their average donation is around
$15.00.    Please remember that QTH.NET is a nonprofit business so your
donation isn't going to a big yacht in the Caribbean.   If you feel that
you have donated your share already, that's fine.   If you have not
contributed in the past, or if you have an extra $10 in your pocket,
consider my words above and those from Bud below.

Hi Gang,

I believe that all of us who subscribe to the Northern Lights Radio Society
reflector probably have received the following message from Al Waller, our
QTH.NET benefactor.  It is Al's service that allows us to have the
convenience of our own reflector.  It is an expensive project for him to
operate.

I also realize that the club sent a check to Al this last spring to cover
the cost of our reflector use.  Unfortunately, there are some out there who
take a free ride on the various reflectors that QTH.NET supports.  The day
may come when we may have to pay a flat rate to have this service.  That at
least would get rid of the dead wood who don't kick in a dime.  Until that
day comes however, we have to support QTH.NET with our donations!

What it boils down to is this; Al needs money to continue this operation
and
that money has to come from us!  Please stop and think about it.  If after
doing that, you feel that you haven't contributed your fair share, please
use one of the services listed at the bottom of this note to do so.

QTH mailing lists are funded by user contributions. We are CRITICALLY
