Well it seems as if the Field Day site is a go here in
Eau Claire. The place is the Silvermine Ski Jump
site. IF weather permitting we will be setting up at
the top of the hill at the jump itself. If the
weather is sloppy (particularily before and on that
weekend, I am thinking we will be utilizing the lower
part of the site (where the parking and spectators
usually are). The reason for this is because the only
access to the top of the hill is gained by either
using a 4WD (which we won't have) up a little
road/trail from the bottom area to the top, or through
a private land owner's drive...and the top site is
basically a field so if it is wet it may be that the
vehicles may get stuck in there. Overall it is a go.

We are going to be running a 2B2 operation again
this year under the call N9TTX. We will be running
essentially the full run of bands from 160 meter (if
we can load up the jump--never done loading like this
before so any suggestions pass em on) through 1296
Mhz. I may or may not have 903 Mhz running. It
depends on the transverter situation.
Any that want to stop in and
chat/contest/setup/teardown you are more than
welcome...Although in any case you may have a hike on
your hands if you do. The lower part will be open
and as a consideration for the private land owner, I
am requesting that not very much traffic go through
his yard, so please park at the lower area and hoof it
up the hill. Contact me and I will give you
directions on how to get to the site if you are
interested.

As for the June VHF/UHF contest two weeks prior to
FD, I will be running N9TTX/0 over near Eitzen, MN.
We will be running 50, 144, 220, 432, 1296 Mhz for
bands...possibly 903 (again depending on the
transverter situation). please look our way that
weekend and or let me know which way to look for
you...*L*

            73,
                Dave...N9TTX
