If I've left anyone off, please let me know and you will be added
to the list.
The weekend of August 16th and 17th looks to be the choice.
Can some of you with internet capabilities check on Motel
reservations in Copper Harbor, Mich, and near Grand Portage, MN?
Jim, K0KFC, said there may be a problem in Copper Harbor.
Bruce, W9FZ, has agreed to call and make some reservations
early this week.
If there are some of you who only wish to go for one day let me know.
There are two possible was to handle a one day operation.
First, operate from Port Wing or Herbster, Wisc working the North Shore
stations. Second, is to travel the North Shore as far north as you wish
while
working the UP. When you feel it's time to quit, call it a day and head
home.
Either choice will have an effect on which side some of us chose
to operate.
It is nice to see the number of people willing to go to either side of
the lake. The UP is a long drive, but one setup per day. The NS end
will be many setups, but less travel time.
If everyone can go, we can have about eight operators per side.
Possible score, over 50K for the weekend. What a way for the new
guys to start on 10G.
Your comments and suggestions are welcome.
If you wish we can move this off the reflector.
73, Gary WB0LJC
