Hi all, made a few 1296 contacts, KT8O and K0CJ, thanks guys.
I also borrowed my 5 and 10 gig dish to a local here who had never been on
anything above 2M FM. We went over the operation and he went out to get a
few contacts in before 1:00. He had so much fun he, he drove around a few
more hours finding other locations to try. Might have a budding weak sig op
on line now. The dish worked real good as it was causing a slight swr
problem on the IF up at Aurora, but got that resolved.
Winds down here have been real bad this weekend. Good thing Gene did not go
to ND. Winds were so bad I think they broke my wind speed anamometer. Last
night it recored a 97 MHP gust. I thought to myself, "that cant be
right...., that would have tore the roof off..."
Then today, we went south to Sioux City to do some shopping. When we got
back, there were branches everywhere and stuff laying all over. I checked
my wind speed station again and it was stuck due north and had recorded a
windspeed of 167 MPH. I thought to myself, "that cant be right..., the
house would be gone..."
So, Im looking for a new one :)
I called the local radio station and it appears they had way over 50 MPH
gusts. Just like last summer, my antennas in the main tower got turned
about 30 degrees as they slipped within the rotor clamp. The last time that
happend, we had 76 MPH winds for sure.
Hope you all had better WX this weekend.
