Will try this now with text only.
Thanks to W0ZQ for the wake up call. I get all this stuff everyday
too - yeah, another threat to our spectrum - but this time it has
different feel to me. After reviewing the information found at the
links Jon posted I am deeply concerned about this new technology and
the apparent swiftness of the FCC rulemaking. Everyone has choices -
but this time I am not sitting on my hands - I will let the League
and the folks at the FCC know that I am opposed to the rapid
deployment of the technology. The real problem as I see it after
reading the "NOTICE OF INQUIRY" is relative to the following:
<snip>" 2. Through this inquiry, we seek information and technical
data so that we may evaluate the current state of BPL technology and
determine whether changes to Part 15 of the Commission=92s rules are
necessary to facilitate the deployment of this technology."...
Part of the problem as I see it is that we have 45 days to come up
with some hard data to provide these folks on order to further defend
our spectrum. Perhaps some of the EE's in the group can help here
as I am not qualified to provide any technical data .. only the
emotional stuff. So that's all I can say for now. Be ready for
further threats such as this - and stay informed. Thanks for the
soap box.
73,
Matt
