Hello there Northern Light'ers:
(By this time, some of you may have gotten up to six of these emails from me
depending on which reflectors you're on :-) )
The Central States VHF Society annual conference is coming up on 25th and
26th in Tulsa, OK. (You'll actually want to travel on the 24th and 27th.)
Conference President Charlie Calhoun K5TTT sent out 950 mailings this past
Friday so they will be arriving in many of your mailboxes shortly. In the
mailing is a welcome letter, a description of the conference activities, a
description of the family program, and a registration form. Mailings were
sent to all CSVHFS conference attendees of the past 3 years as well as club
listings of Northern Lights Radio Society, Badger Contesters, and several
Oklahoma and Texas VHF clubs. IF you don't get a mailing in the next 2-3
days, go to the Conference website at: http://members.cox.net/csvhfs/ and
download or print-out the registration forms and send them along. Unlike
some years, you need to turn right around and get your registrations in the
mail! Deadline for registration is July 1. Same for room reservations.
(Info on the web).
An emphasis for this conference is to bring families and have a good event
for families as well as conference attendees. Family members under 18 can
attend family events for FREE! You'll notice that fees are VERY reasonable
this year for Conference Registration, Banquet, and family events.
Like every year, the conference will have interesting presentations, antenna
range, noise figure lab, and good hospitality.
Questions? For conference questions, first check the web and then contact
the conference president at [email protected] .
Plan to attend and see you there!

Central States VHF Society "States Above 50 MHz Program"
The program year runs through 30 June 2003. You still have about 10 days to
collect states. If you had a good weekend in the contest just past and have
not been collecting your states through the year, go to the website at
http://www.csvhfs.org/CSTEST0.HTML and take a look at the rules and print
out the forms. You can go through your logs of the past year and tabulate
your states. No QSL's required. You just need to do your best to determine
what state the op was in at the time. Bring along your forms to the
conference or mail them to me early if you get your results compiled before
the contest. To compete for a placque, results have to be to me by/at the
conference. I will accept entries till August 31, 2003 for certificates.
Certificates should go out in September. Participate in the program!
Questions, email me at [email protected] .
