It was a tale of two contrasting days!
Saturday from the beginning saw 6 meters wide open to the east coast, to
the south coast, to the west coast and even Cuba, PR and Dominican =
Republic
with Mexico and Costa Rica thrown in for good measure. The new M2 6M7JHV
beam worked great. I managed to work the W0IS/KC0OIA rover from 4 =
different
grids on my three bands on Saturday but for the most part 2m and 432 were
ignored because I could not be on three bands at once. 6m was still open =
to
W6 area when I went to bed at 1am local time.

On Sunday it was horrible. Early on, 6m only produced very few scatter
contacts until it opened up to the southwest into W5/W7 again after =
supper.
2m and 432 weren't 'great' but there was some enhancements during the day
to the south into EN60 and EN30 (and working KM0T and K0AWU on 432 was
easy!). Activity, I felt, was down all across the country. Big loud long
openings on 6m to FN20 and FN30 only netted a dozen contacts where in =
1996
there would of been 50. Ditto for EM10 (Dallas area) and EL96 (South
=46lorida). In fact I only worked 3 stations from EN35! Did everyone move
south into EN34 (23 stations worked)? :-)
Thanks to everyone for making my 'comeback' a smashing success =
especially
Charlie, N0AKC for the labor in getting all that aluminum up the tower =
for
which all these contacts would not of been made.

My second all time best VHF contest score ever! =20
