6m was indeed hot. When a guy in EN34 running 100 watts and a 4 ele yagi at 25' can have a pile-up going, the band is hot. Ran about 45 stations in the span of less than an hour. Worked a few new states to boot. Was listening and making noise on 2m, heard an occasional pop, but no E's here (at least when I was listening).
