We had a little 10G activity today. We worked some local
paths and then moved to a Mendota Heights park to work KM0T.

Lenny, K0SHF, and Jon, W0ZQ, started out in Burnsville. Donn,WA2VOI,
was at Ridgeway Park, near St Anthony. Signals were bounced off
the Mpls downtown buildings with the expected strong signals.
All three tried pointing in different directions and were able to
copy signals where ever they pointed. Not a surprise considering
the relatively short path.

I took the easy route and pointed out an upstairs window.
Lenny and Jon were worked with weak signals. Donn was heard but
not worked. The path to the Mpls buildings are obstructed by may
trees this time of year.

Donn moved to Mounds Parks and again worked Lenny and Jon.
Jim, K0KFC, arrived at Burnsville just in time to work Donn. I heard
but did not work Jim.

A 2:30 PM sked was setup with KM0T. All five of us went to a park
overlook in Mendota Heights. This site has been used before to work
Mike so we knew it worked. However, previous successes had been
in the morning. Lenny found Mike first but Mike didn't copy Lenny's
signal. I found him next and sent CW. Mike could hear my signal
but not enough to copy. Next Jon found Mike and they worked on CW.
Signals were building now and the rest of us also heard Mike.
Lenny and I worked Mike next. I don't know if Donn finished a QSO or
not, but they both heard each other. Jim was getting good signals
from Mike, but is running less power, 200 mW, and so was not able
to finish a Q. Mike runs about 10W, Lenny has 2W, Donn, Jon and I
are at about the 1W level. Signals continued to build
and were even moving my S meter up to S1 on peaks.

I took a while for us to make the contacts and we appreciate Mike
patience and perseverance. It was nice to make it over the 190
mile path at a poor time of day.
