I wouldn't say that. Ham Radio is alive and well, and will get even better
once there is more interest in getting new people into the hobby. Of course
you will always have the gloom and doom types that say it will turn into CB,
funny, cause everybody said that would happen when they made the no-code
license, never did happen.
Oh well, I say good riddance to it as a licensing requirement, but I know
that wont stop it from being used, and never wanted it to be totally
eliminated. I just always thought that it was stupid to test on one
particular "MODE" of operation, why not test on SSB and FM and RTTY and
PSK31 and Packet and SSTV and etc etc etc..... But you know how government
agencies are after all, backwards and willing to spend 30 million dollars on
that toilet that Chuck speaks of.
