I am interested in the difference between a conventional yagi and a loop
yagi for 1296MHz.
I would be using this as a rover antenna so I would probably be looking at
something in the range of 5-6 feet in length. It would probably be center
mounted to a fiberglass crossboom. (I know that rear mounting is better...
but as a rover I am concerned about the antenna surviving large amount of
vibration... center mounting seems safer.)
I know that w0amt/r uses a conventional yagi that is rear mounted.... how
does this compare to a looper?
TIA for people's thoughts on this. 1296 is probably going to be my spring
project.... I hate the thought of those q's going by unused.
