Hi Gang:

I picked up the rental vehicle and went down to the farm to pick up my rack
of antennas. It's now attached to the roof rack with some lashings that I
learned back in Scouts. W0ZQ will be loaning me a 2304 looper which I will
pick up tomorrow and attach. My 432 beam is missing two elements, which I
plan to replace, but I may take up ZQ on his offer to loan out his 432 beam.

I still have LOTS of work ahead of me between now and the contest. I'll
depart for the Elbow Lake corner by 9am on Saturday in order to be on the
air and ready to go at contest time.

Over the past two days, I used the guidance provided by WA2VOI and W0JT and
checked out the operating spots they recommended. Their comments were a big
help. As a result, I will probably shift my EN-44 operating to the SW
corner of that grid and shift my operating time there as well.

So, the freq I will be found on is 144.250 and generally .150 on the other
bands. The schedule, slightly modified from the first time is now:

Here's the plan: (all times CST (=GMT+6))
Saturday
EN-15 1300-1430 NE Corner
EN-16 1500-1630 SE Corner
EN-26 1700-1830 SW Corner

Drive southeasterly

EN-25 2030-2200 SE Corner (Dog Lake)
EN-24 2200-2330 NE Corner (Dog Lake)
EN-34/35 2330-0000 15 min in each to work locals at that hour of night
(Same grid intersection)

Drive to reposition and sleep
Sunday:
EN-35 0730-0830 SE Corner (Glenwood City)
EN-45 0900-1100 SW Corner NW of Colfax
EN-44 1300-1500 SW Corner (near St Charles)
EN-43 1600-1800 NW Corner (near St Charles)
EN-33 1900-2100 NE Corner (near St Charles)
EN-34 2100-2200 (only if I'm ahead of schedule and have some EN-34
contacts lined up in advance)

I'll post once more just prior to departing. I'm out there for you fixed
stations, so I hope to clean sweep N0MSS and W0PHD to the NW, K0AWU to the
north, N0AKC, KB9TLV, KB9PLJ, and W9RAY to the east, N9DG to the Southeast,
KM0T and W7XU to the SW, and KA0PQW and W0OHU to the South. And of course,
in the Twin Cities, W0ZQ, K0SHF, W0GHZ, N0KP, and many others. For the fun
of it, I hope to catch a few other rovers too! Some of their grids are the
only way I stand to get those grids--hope it works out.
