OOFDA! That would be a haul...I only have about 30
watts on the 736R...I have not gotten anything in the
air yet, but I did a prelim test on the newly
constructed beam. It is a homebrew 14 element...based
on Darrell's (KB9LVK) 12 element. He had about a 12DB
gain, so I should have at least that. I did test it
tonight about 15 feet off the ground, pointed
southeast...and did get the Wausau 146.820 repeater
decent...(Horizontal polarized even). have not been
able to do that yet so that was promising. I will
have to break out the mobile 50 watter to test
repeater ranges tomorrow when I get things airborn.
The 736 does not have a tone board. I will have only
the 2 meter, and the 6 meter (tuned into a G5RV)..not
sure how that will work, and 10-80 HF. I will post on
the reflector when I get things erected (hopefully
before the THRONG arrives here). I remembered to
bring my keyer, so CW is a possibility, but go
slow...I can send a whole &$(%#! load faster than I
can recieve, and no computer to help me decode...*L*
be patient if we work that way. I will be hopefully
pointing eastboud to get K0AWU in EN65 sometime also.
Hope toi get a few of you. 73
