The 2003 UHF contest results are out on the Leagues website at
http://www.arrl.org/members-only/contests/results/2003/Aug-UHF/ .

It appears that overall activity continues to decline in this contest with
only 140 stations sending their logs in, the lowest log submission in 11
years (according to the write-up). I'm not sure why this is as this has
always been one of my favorite contests ; low key, no 6m or 2m, just 24 hrs
long, etc.

Local activity was good as MN submitted 8 logs which was a tie for the
second highest number of logs submitted by Section ; EMA also had 8 logs
and Illinois was highest with 11.

If you were in the contest as a single op low power (SOLP) and didn't
submit a log, you lost the opportunity for some wall paper. The Dakota
section did not have a SOLP winner. W0GHZ grabbed the Dakota SOHP class,
KT8O the multiop class, and W0AMT/KC0LBT the rover class. In the Midwest
division KM0T grabbed the SOHP class and N0DQS the rover class.

Nation wide, in the SOHP class, KM0T placed fourth, W0GHZ placed sixth, and
W0ZQ placed ninth. In the multiop class, KT8O placed tenth, and in the
rover class N0DQS placed fourth while W0AMT/KC0LBT placed ninth. I
apologize to anyone who I may have missed. Good job to all !

Lastly, Jon, W0AMT, has a nice side bar article along with a second article
by W3IY/R. Check them out.
