Hi John,
You are welcome to borrow my HP5248 over the weekend. You'll have to pick
it up on your way home... it needs to be powered constantly (as nearly as
possible) to keep the internal reference ocsillator at temperature. Once at
home, it should be allowed maybe 6 hours (or more) to stablize again.
It'll take maybe 5 minutes to show you how to use the hetrodyne converter
(150-3000 MHz). Its not hard, but you do need to know how to do it to get
consistent results.
Last time I checked it against GPS 10MHz, it was several milli-Hertz off in
frequency (at 10MHz). The value doesn't matter as long as you know what it
is... which we can measure.
