As Jon, W0ZQ, mentioned, he and I were side-by-side at New Trier this
afternoon. Good spot. The BAD thing is that Jon heard stuff I simply DID
NOT. W0AUS called a couple of times... weak, but Q5 in Jon's rig and
NOTHING in mine. I had the XRVTR measured at Tulsa... 2.2 dB SYSTEM noise
figure... not just the XVRTR, which is good. (Jon's claims 1.2 dB for the
front end... add T/R relay and feed line anmine's comparable. That leave
only the dish and feed horn.

I spent the evening getting my stuff mounted on an RCA dish with the
converted RCA feed. Again, measured at Tulsa with maybe 1.5 to 2 dB better
performance than the Sony, and measured -30 dB return loss. A slightly
longer piece of feed-line (about 10" of UT-141).

So... I'm hoping someone will be around tomorrow (Sunday so I can test
things out. Some RF onto downtown MPLS is all I really need. I'll run
down to Ridgeway Parkway. Eventhoug I'm asking a favor, I'r really like it
to be after 10AM or so.

I'll be on 146.46 @ 0900 if there are any takers. Thanks guys.

We may get a chance to do some rain-scatter tomorrow, too. More local than
DX, but experience is experience.
