What you're hearing does not sound like a radar at all. I don't have a
file that I can send you but a radar signal consists of very short sharp
pulses which are close enough together in time to make a an audio pitch
as the beam sweeps by. Because the pulses are so sharp, a noise blanker
will usually take them out quite well. Also, the antenna pattern of a
radar is very sharp because the directional definition of the radar
depends on it. On a weak signal, one usually hears only the main beam.
It makes a sort of beEEep sound as it swings by. If louder, one hears
the main side lobes too. Sort of goes beEep beeEEEEeep beEep. When loud,
one hears it all the way around but there is NO doubt about when the
main beam swings by. Hope this helps and doesn't sound too dumb.
Asbestos apparel donned just in case someone perceives a misstatement in
the above.

It sounds like a carrier with no audio, just small bursts of what sounds like static. That's about as good as I can describe it, anyway, does anyone else that is hearing this have a recording of what they are hearing?? A .wav file, .mp3, or any other format that they could email me or put on the NLRS web site for download. I would really like to hear it and see if it sounds like what I am hearing, I would also like to add it to my website as well for the rest of us down here that are curious about the recent increase of activity between 430-439.
