Hi folks,
I just thought that I would throw my two cents in. Instead of operating
from Nebraska, I decided I would put up a few 100ft towers, find KW's
for 6-432, throw in some microwave equipment and move to a well
populated part of the country. Since that was impossible, I jumped into
the W2FU/FN13 multi-op, which had all of that stuff and some fine
operators to boot :)
All I can say is that it is a different world over here on this side of
the lakes! I always wondered how folks got such tremendous scores out
here. I guess alot of it has to do with the number of folks on the
microwaves, including many of the rovers. You can imagine what it's
like to have six mountain-top stations that you can work through 10 GHz,
and even a few on 24GHz--you can also do the math and see what that does
to a score!
It was nice to work a few of you on 6m and 2m scatter, which gave me a
reason not to sleep Saturday night! I hope everyone had a good time!
