Hi Bruce,
Hope vacation  is great... WX is great, at least here.

I use Delorme Topo USA 3.0.  Its far from peerfect, but does work.  (And,
of course, it doesn't require an active internet connection.  It did cost
$$, however.)  It does not do 4/3-earth radius, but with a little practice,
I've been able to guess quite well.
