Jon, the good news may be that both are good performing antennas (from what
I've seen and know). My 2m antenna (33' boom) is a M^2 and, despite being
somewhat lightweight in construction, has withstood the last five years or
so without any problems. My 222 antenna is a K1FO (17' boom) and seems to
me to be more hefty in mechanical construction and has been an excellent
performer for me. My 902, 1296 and 2304 antennas are all Directive System
loopers and work just fine.
