I was over at N2UIO's place in FN13 for the shower and we did the same
thing. In fact, .200, .205, and .210 were often in such bedlam that a
single CQ on .215 or higher netted three or sometimes even 4 QSO's. It
looks like people are finally willing to spin the dial a little! We
made a few QSO's on 6m, but in 6m had prop so did 2m for the most part,
and you can guess which one we chose :) George, N2UIO, had never
operated a meteor shower before, so he got a pretty good introduction.
Even though this years Leonids were aparently not as good as last year,
it was certainly a "good" shower as showers go. The first QSO we made
was a FSK441 sked with W5SNX/EM73 a little before 2am. We got his
"Rogers" on what turned out to be a 50 sec, 20/9 monster (looking at the
meter, 20/9 is pretty conservative!). Naturally we plugged the mics in
and had a little ragchew. So much for "weak signal" work.
