I am pleased to announce that, thanks to the encouragement of Ed W0OHU, I
now have a commission as a VUCC Checker ! (Encouragement, my foot. Ed beat
me over the head with a 2x4!)

I'll plan on being available to check cards at the monthly NLRS Breakfasts,
Aurora, and of course other times by appointment. (I would appreciate a
"heads-up" if you're going to bring cards to a Breakfast.) I will be at
the Breakfast on April 13th in Roseville, and NOT at MidWinter Madness.

If you're a "local," that is, you normally make the Breakfasts, I'd like to
ask that you NOT expect to have your cards checked at Aurora... lets save
that time for those from out of town, please.

Some ground rules:
1) Make sure you have the CURRENT forms and that you READ the current
rules. All can be found at: http://www.arrl.org/awards/vucc/
The current rules (MSD-261) are dated 02/02; Application (MSD-260) is dated
(2/02); Field Sheet (MSD-259) is dated 7/01.

2) You need to have the paper-work filled out

3) You need to have your QSL cards sorted

4) You need to have the fees (Make checks payable to ARRL)

5) In addition to the paperwork mentioned in the rules (above), you need to
bring
EITHER:
	a) a No. 10 business-sized envelope with one (1) unit of first-class
postage for UP TO five (5) sheets of paper or two (2) units of first-
class postage for MORE than five (5) (MAX of eight (8) sheets).
OR:
	b) a 9x11 manila envelope with three (3) units of first-class postage
for more than eight (8) sheets (Max of 14 sheets).

In either case, the envelope should be addressed to:
	ARRL VUCC Desk
	225 Main Street
	Newington, CT 06111-1494

If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me.

(612) 781-1359 (Before 9PM, please. And on weekends, I get VERY cranky if
I get called before 9:30AM)
