Well, nuts.

Now for the details....

Mike and the crew (WA2VOI, W0AUS, W0GHZ) at Birkmose Park in Hudson
(EN34OX) were able to coordinate on 144.220. Path is 214 miles to Sioux
Center, IA. Nothing was heard at the WI end on 10GHz. I was told after the
fact that Jim, K0KFC, located at Flying Cloud Airport DID hear Mike. Mike
also told me that he had heard his call a couple of times, so.... To my
knowledge, though, no QSO took place. Flying Cloud is 45-50 miles closer
to Mike than we were in Hudson.

I sent 10GHz northwest to Winnipeg, looking fo Barry, VE4MA, but no go.
Must admit, it wasn't a major effort. The location in Hudson does not have
a horizon in that direction. (Tress very close).

After we all gave up, Gary went home and both Bob and I worked him on 10GHz
and Bob also worked him on 5.7 GHz. New state for Gary on both bands.

THe Hudson site has good promise for 10GHz contesting. Easy to get to,
good horizon from SSW to NW, which will cover most of the rest of the Twin
Cities sites we have found so far. Red Wing should be do-able (horizon is
marginal... again, trees close... but thats the only one that far east.
All of the others should be OK.

See you this afternoon.
