At K0SHF's urging after ragchewing on 432, we decided to get out and
help out a couple of clubs with 10g and maybe gain a little
visiblility while having some fun. Len went to the W0BU site south of
Rosemount. Gary LJC went to Burnsville Pkwy. I went to the KM0D site
near the State Capital in downtown St Paul. Len and I started beaming
some RF directly and also bouncing off of downtown St Paul. I think
we worked best off the bounce path. We found each other within a few
minutes and completed. Later, LJC was heard very loud on a double
bounce--he was pointed at downtown Minneapolis to the NNW and I was
pointed to downtown St Paul to the ESE. So the rf must have gone
downtown to downtown. But he was loud and we did a Q on SSB and a Q
on cw. So three total Q's for the KM0D team. Their members came out
and got the "tour" of what I was trying to do. Doug, N0NAS, explained
what I couldn't. Thank goodness for the downtown buildings because I
don't think I could have completed without them.
That was cool!
Also had fun this FD learning about PSK31. Finally integrated my
Yeasu 817, LDG tuner, and RigBlaster. Made up powercords for all of
them.
