K0AWU EN37ed ------ Jan 2002 VHF Contest Results -------
Thanks to all that "looked north"! This was my 2nd best point
total since I started keeping score. What a difference 6 meters
makes, even with 4 watts!!
Band Qs Grids Points
50 14 9 14
144 44 16 44
432 17 8 34
1296 1 1 4
Total 76 34 96

-- Highlights!! --
6 meters with 4 watts out: 9 Grids (Only one on F2!) All but 2 Q's
over 100 miles!!
All the rover activity:
Worked N0DQS/R (1 Q) W0AMT/R (4 Q's) and KF0Q/R (2 Q's)
New 2 meter amp ran VERY WELL! Pair of 8560A's 400 watts
"DC" out. (1500 VDC)
Being able to work both KM0T and W7XU on 2 meters, difficult
because of local 450ft mountain in path (2 miles from QTH).
-- Lowpoints --
Very poor 432 conditions to the west and northwest.
Very poor 1296 conditions in any direction.
Only one station out of VE land! (VE4GLS)
Only being able to work N0DQS once :>( But that was EN24 :>))
Never working KA0BZV on 432 mhz.
Never working W0GHZ, W0LER or W0OHU on 1296 mhz.
Poor attempt with a paddle and keyer on the air for the first time
after a straight key for 46 years. Will I ever get the hang of it???
Thanks for the radio memories ...........Bill K0AWU EN37ed 73s
