The Cedar Rapids (IA) Microwave Society is putting together its annual January Rover Run. Current plans are three rovers K0DAS&N0LNO with ABCD9EF, KA0YSQ&WB0YFL with ABCD9EF, and NA0IA&AA0KW with ABCD9E.
Please note that all vehicles have in excess of 100,000 miles so we tend to run in a pack. Helps with repairs!
Current thoughts - pending break downs and delays
We will start the contest in EN 31/32/41/42 corner and be there about 90 Minutes.
Then north for an hour to EN 32/33/42/43 corner for another 90 Minutes
Then north for about 90 minutes to EN 33/34/43/44 for about 90 minutes. Probably eat dinner someplace before or after this grid square for 30 to 60 minutes.
Then through Rochester to the Twin Cities, across the south side on the Interstate and out to EN 24/25/34/35 in another 2 hours and stay till we finish up about Midnight.
The NA0IA&AA0KW rover will make a midnight run back to CR - have comitments on Sunday.
The K0DAS&N0LNO and KA0YSQ&WB0YFL rovers will stay in the Cities overnight and start Sunday Morning. They are planning on running I94 from Minneapolis to Madison with a possible swing through Necoda (SP?) and a possible run to Milwaulkee and then south into Rockford Ill.
Operation is RUN and GUN with OMNI antenna's. We only slow down for Four Corner Grid Squares, and stop for gas, food, and restrooms.
Thanks
Steve
