Arrrrgh!!!

Ok, I don't know how that slipped past me, but I fixed it to compute
the score with kilometers instead of miles, and uploaded the new file
to the web server. Thanks very much for noticing that.

Unfortunately, there is yet another problem that I just became aware
of when Donn told me about a program he uses on his Palm device, called
GL. My program is computing the distance from the 'exact location
entered' as source and destination. But the ARRL scoring wants the
distance between the CENTERS OF THE SUB-GRIDS. This means that the
2nd page (where you enter contacts by 6-character grid) is OK, but the
1st page (where you could enter contacts by exact location) gives you
a more accurate distance and bearing but the wrong number of distance
points. Oh well, it can be fixed, but not tonight.

Now for the good news.

The 10 GHz web page has been substantially updated:
    http://nlrs.dropboxone.net/10GHz_and_Up/10GHz_Sites.htm

I fixed some more typos, re-arranged the sites into several tables,
added links to standardized maps for every site that has a valid
location (using links to someone else's map server), and added new
links at the bottom to the files I mentioned earlier, plus a link
to the GL program for the Palm. GL is similar in concept to my
Grid Loc program, but is much faster, includes the ability to store
lists of locations on the device as data files, uses a more accurate
Earth model, gives you BOTH the true bearing and distance PLUS the
sub-grid-center to sub-grid-center distance for scoring purposes,
and can work with a GPS unit! What a deal. Highly recommended if
you have a Palm. Even recommended if you don't, since it is
actually possible to run it on the POSE (Palm OS Emulator) on a PC,
but you will have to obtain a ROM image from a Palm device to do
that.

Anyway, I plan to see some of you folks tomorrow. I will be out
at Mounds Park with Donn's WBFM unit and look forward to giving out
points for my "unique call" plus whatever distance points we can
manage.
