Hi, Chris. I'd love to be proven wrong on my statement, but I can't
find anything in the rules to support your contention. :(
Looking at the rules for the 10 GHz contest . . .
http://www.arrl.org/contests/rules/2002/10GHzandUp.pdf
...I see paragraph 5.1 which says:
"Scheduling contacts is both permissible and encouraged."
And I see paragraph 7.1 which says:
"Schedules may be set up by use of the HF calling frequency of
3818 kHz on the evenings of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
before the contest weekends strting at 7 PM local. Also,
144.230 and 146.55 MHz can be monitored during the contest to
arrange schedules with other stations. Paired stations should
move off these frequencies once contact has been made."
Did I miss something about using non-Amateur means to arrange
skeds being OK for this one?
If not, then I think that the rules for all contests above 50 MHz
still apply:
http://www.arrl.org/contests/announcements/rules-vhf.html
" 1.7. Retransmitting either or both stations, or use of repeater
frequencies, is not permitted.
1.7.1. This prohibits use of all repeater frequencies.
1.7.2. Contest entrants may not transmit on repeaters or
repeater frequencies for the purpose of soliciting
contacts.
1.8. Use of the national simplex frequency, 146.52 MHz, or
immediately adjacent guard frequencies, is prohibited.
1.8.1. Contest entrants may not transmit on 146.52 for
the purpose of making or soliciting QSOs. "
And, from the rules for ALL contests:
http://www.arrl.org/contests/announcements/rules-all.html
"3.10. The use of non-Amateur Radio means of communication (for
example, Internet or telephone) to solicit a contact (or contacts)
during the contest period is not permitted. "
