[NLRS] 10 GHz Cumulative and web page

There is an "interesting" quirk with bearing and distance calculations for
the 10GHz contest. To get the correct bearings, you need to use the actual
locations of the two stations.

BUT, to SCORE the DX points in the contest, you use the (6-digit) Grid
Square center to (6-digit) Grid Square center !!! (The rules say you can
use "string on a map," but they also say if you use a "computer" you use
grid squares.)

Another Palm Pilot program is by Rex Allers, KK6MK.
Located at http://www.dnai.com/~rexa/, and then under "projects." This is
the one Jon, K0FQA, and I use. It has database inputs, correctly calculates
bearings (and reverse!), provides grid-to-grid distances was well as actual
distances in both miles and km. A great program, and very good man-machine
interface.

John, I have a WBFM unit that I'm pretty sure works. I'll check it out and
its yours for the weekend if you want it. Tunes both 10,250 and 10,280.
Getting to you may be a problem, but we'll work on that. PS Bring your
tripod!

For computing bearing and distance, there are three tools that I've made
available before that can be of some assistance to you. None of them
is in a form that I would consider "ideal" for the purpose, but any one
of them easily beats pencil/paper/ruler/calculator.

The GridLoc program for the Palm Pilot and compatibles can also be
used. Unfortunately, the current version lacks the ability to
store a database of locations/operators, which I hope to add "some
day". But in the meantime, it will compute the bearing and distance
between any two points whose coordinates are known (in most formats,
i.e. DD:MM:SS, DD:MM.MMM, DD.DDDDD, or 4-digit or 6-digit grid).

As I said earlier, I am available both days, but have no gear except
for a reasonably sturdy camera tripod (enough for a WBFM horn unit,
not for a unit with a dish), so I would need to borrow a unit if you
want my unique call bonus and my measly distance points.
